THE TREE HOUSE

He makes my feet like the feet of a deer,
he causes me to stand on the heights.       Psalm 18:33

“John was standing dormant staring at the cemetery where his vital fragment of life lied buried deep inside the ground. Just then a raindrop dripped across his cheeks and his consciousness startled”

It was yet another sunny day as days were approaching the end of the month, and john was keen to know about the puzzle game that his beloved father would bring. John was a fun loving and mischievous, yet an obedient son of his father. John would await for days to take a leap and jump to the end of the month so as to get a new puzzle game from his dad. He loved the puzzle game immensely. He loved to put the fragments of the puzzle together so as to see what would the picture in itself looked like.
At the end of the month his dad bought him a new puzzle game. John was successful in solving all the puzzles that his dad brought before. This time it was different. The puzzle looked too difficult to solve. Days passed by but john wasn’t able to complete the puzzle. He always used to sit under a tree and give it a try .But this time it was too difficult. His dad had compassion on him and wanted to help him.
So he built a tree house for his son and said to him,”john,I know this time its hard to solve the puzzle,so look what have I made for you..its a tree house..whenever you feel confused or distressed then climb up the tree and spread your hands and feel the air and it will tell you something and then when you will come down you will be able to solve any puzzle of your life”
John was very happy about the tree house. The other day he came out with the puzzle and sat near the tree. The puzzle was too big and complicated to figure out.He then realized that his father had made a tree house. He climbed up the tree and stretched his hands .He felt relaxed. After that he looked down and saw something. He immediately came down and fixed the first part of the puzzle.
“wow..thats amazing!!my dad was right ..i got the first clue!!”,john exclaimed.
Days passed by and whenever john used to climb up the tree he would feel relaxed and then with the relaxed mind he was able to fix the fragments of the puzzle.
During all of this only few parts were remaining to get fixed.
One day john was sitting under the tree. Just then he heard someone shouting. He left the puzzle down there under the tree and went inside his house. His mother was shouting at the top of her voice.
John asked her about the matter, but his efforts were futile..
The bedroom door was slightly open. His mom was looking continuously there.John could literally hear his footsteps as he approached the door. There inside his dad was lying on the bed. He breathed a sigh of relief. He approached his dad and brushed his hands on his fathers hair.
“Daaaaddd”,he spoke as softly as possible.
“you are listening to me right?”
It was all silence that he was talking to..
He got worried and shouted at the top of his voice .It was all over for him. His father kept him unaware of the fact that he was spending his last days with his son.
John did not know how to react to the situation. All the good days that he spent with his dad came to a dead end.
John got up the next day with sored eyes. Still in a shock he managed to go to the funereal. It was raining heavily outside. The dark clouds overcasted the sky.For john his life was doomed to darkness. He approached the graveyard where the priest was performing the rituals. He sobbed like a little child but there was no one to take him in caring arms. He got disappointed with GOD and did not pray that very day.
“John was standing dormant staring at the cemetery where his vital fragment of life lied buried deep inside the ground. Just then a raindrop dripped across his cheeks and his consciousness startled”
He realized something. His fathers words echoed in his ears. He ran towards his house which was just three blocks away and starred at the tree house.
“dad, you told me that if I am distressed then I should climb up the tree and go in the tree house. I’ll do it.”
He rushed and climbed the tree. He stretched his hands and felt every drop of rain unifying with his tears. Just then when he saw down ,he realized that his dads gift was still incomplete. He gazed at the puzzle for some time and got the clue. He got down and finished the puzzle. He climbed the tree again and looked at the puzzle for sometime and he said “dad I did it atlast ..thank you for the tree house”
Just then as he was about to comedown he saw a box. As he opened it there was a letter inside it. The letter read,
John, my beloved son.
I saw that you were in distress, because you were unable to solve the puzzle . so I decided to build this tree house for you. I was happy to see that after coming to this tree house you were able to solve the puzzle. Do you want to know the secret of it? you must be thinking that it was the wind that got your mind relaxed and you were able to solve the puzzle. But my son,it wasn’t the wind or the the treehouse that did the magic but rather it was your PERSPECTIVE that enabled you to see from the height. The puzzle was too big for you to figure out from that distance . so by climbing up the tree you were able to see the puzzle from a considerable height which allowed you to see that which part belonged where!”
Then God spoke,
John, it was my plan for you to build this tree house ..i wanted you to learn that whenever you feel distressed or confused you should call upon my name rather than ignoring me,then I would pick you up like a father picks up a child and makes him sit on his shoulders and enables him to see from a height he wasn’t able to view before.
And just as you were able to solve the puzzle cause you looked from a height and it enabled you to picture the view, in the same way you will be able to see which part of your life is meant to be fixed exactly where! Look turn around, (john turned around and saw his father’s grave clearly)
Your father is not away from you he is so close to you and one day you will meet him in my kingdom. Just trust me.”
Friends,
Life is nothing more than a puzzle!
There are many parts of a puzzle. Imagine if you are solving a puzzle of an animal then there would be tail, head nose etc to find out and fix it.
And in life these are nothing more than phases.
Your birth, marriage, financial needs,Love etc are discrete parts of your life puzzle.and then when we start solving it we often get confused and frustrated.we view life from merely two eyes which restricts us from getting a full picture of life. But when we call upon GOD, he hears us and lifts us up and we are able to see our life from GOD’S perspective.Imagine if john wouldn’t have climbed the tree he wouldn’t know that his father IS SO CLOSE to him.
So live life depending on your father in heaven who enables you to see from heights..

STAY BLESSED..                                                                 -paul vattikuti

The Melancholy in Her Smile

"The Joy which your arduous efforts yield, far outweighs the weight of the affliction you carried" "How well she knows me, ha ha," we both chuckled. It was yet another Friday night for me, suddenly I felt compelled to call my best friend ruth who was out of station for her studies. we have had a special bonding knowing each other all these years. we used to text each other every day and voice calling was sporadic. everything was unusual about that night. I had my exams the next day and I was busy searching her name on the contact list. "Hello" , I said to spark a conversation. she responded by saying "hi" in a hushed tone. seeking an answer to the unusuality I just encountered I asked her whether everything was alright or not. Assuringly she said yes.everything is fine. still unappeased I asked her about her health. She seemed to be whooping throughout the conversation. she kept on assuring me again and again. "hey wa...

Its all about happiness..

Its all about Happiness..                               paul vattikuti One day I asked some of my students the definition of happiness. One of them said that being happy means to express joy or emotions in a state of well being .The other said that it is a  state of well being characterised by emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy.One said it is felicity . I agreed to their answers but it did not satisfy .I do not accuse them ,for they spoke what they had been taught and what they had learn. Wanting to make them understand the meaning of happiness I called four students on the stage. I asked them to speak of the moment when they are very happy . One of the four said that ,"I am happy when everything sets according to the preplaned way" The second one said that,"I am very happy when I see my girlfriend"huh..He must be kidding. T...

Once there was a small girl named alice, she was just 10 years old and was a loving daughter of her father.Once she was going through a news paper. She again saw something disturbing," BOY QUITED BECAUSE HE WAS ALLEGEDLY SPURNED BY A GIRL" she turned over the page as she rubbed her eyes harshly after reading the news. At last she found the puzzle. After filling the boxes she kept the newspaper on the table ,just then she saw a Heading on the last page," DEATH TOLLS MOUNTED BY 10% DUE TO TERRORIST ATTACK" She got irritated by the news she read and questioned her dad immediately who was sitting besides her . "Dad!" She exclaimed," why is there sin around the world ?, people have been clinging on to such loathsome things which will put them in ...
